Here we can see that the die is polished with a combination of manual and automatic steps to ensure that the function demanded by the process is optimal.

Once a die has finished its production steps it is polished. This step is traditionally labour intensive, costly and if not done by the right person can cause geometric errors. The process at SUMCA is to minimise the finishing steps by ensuring that production delivers an excellent part. A manual check ensures that all our dies are nominal. A superfinishing process is then used to bring the die to a mirror finish.
